There are way more than five reasons to get licensed as a Cosmetologist or Esthetician, but let’s just pick five.

#1  Things are getting crazier and crazier in this world. The pandemic has just been the ‘cherry on the icing’. Before the pandemic hit, we all enjoyed a false sense of security. For many of us, we never thought our jobs could go away. Our economy faced a blow that we are still reeling from. This illuminated the careers that are still necessary despite all that happened. People still need hair and skin care services. No matter if salons or spas didn’t survive, the world still needs people with these skills. You can go to clients’ homes or work out of your own (local laws permitting). These are skills that are valuable all over the world. You don’t need a brick and mortar place to work.

#2  Unlimited income potential is certainly a driving force behind getting licensed. Most people don’t have the vision to see the possibilities. There are many stylists and estheticians who have gone on to have their own brand. Some go on to work with celebrities, musicians and models. Some simply open their own salon or spa. The bottom line is: you can do way more than just work for someone. You can work for yourself and make your own hours and make as much as you want. You just need someone to show you the way. That’s where we come in.

#3  Which brings us to the fact that there are over 75 different careers you can have if you possess the license. Yes… 75! You might decide to become a Cosmetology or Esthetics Teacher. You might decide to specialize and have your own bridal business, or lashes, or brows, or braiding. Maybe you’ll decide to work with cancer patients or even in mortuary services. Perhaps you’ll work with a major haircare or cosmetics company. Think outside the box. You can be anything you want to be!

#4  If you’re going to college, you need to consider going and getting your Cosmetology or Esthetics License first. Sound crazy? Crazy SMART!  You could get your hair license in as little as 10 months or your skincare license in as little as 6 months. Then you start your college studies. Students have a hard enough time vying for part-time jobs at fast food places. But you will have the edge of already having a good paying skill. You can charge your classmates for services. You can work whenever you need to and have total flexibility around your classes. Making your own hours is gold! And so is being able to not have a fixed income. Make as much as you need by working as long as you need to.

#5  When you look good, you feel good. Every thing you learn, you can do for yourself, too. You look good, you make others look good. It’s a win-win situation. It’s a ‘happy’ profession. The Beauty Industry is a multi-billion dollar machine with no signs of ever slowing down. Now more than ever, job security is of utmost importance. Be smart- get licensed now.
